History 2.0 is a blog that looks into history that complicates what we think we know about both the past and the present. It is a blog for everyone, regardless of prior historical knowledge or familiarity with current events.
The title of the blog is derived from the colloquially coined “Web 2.0”, which indicated a newer state of online technology that had greater user interactivity and collaboration. This phrase was adapted and used for this blog to denote a look into history that takes into account information and perspectives that challenge how we percieve historical events, individuals, and instances.
History 2.0 is written by Kimberly Beaudreau, a recent graduate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with Bachelor’s degrees in Legal Studies and Accounting. Kimberly is currently living and working in Boston, MA.
